Samhain is the final of the harvest festivals and marks the end of Autumn and the start of Winter. It is liminal space where the veil between worlds thins and is a quiet, inward and magical time of the year. It is also referred to as the death of summer, the Witch’s New Year and the Festival of the Dead. In terms of the Celtic calendar Samhain is the end of the year and many pagans will celebrate their new year on November 1st. This teaches us that in Celtic belief, the year begins in the dark, it begins with death. In Celtic society, death was viewed as an important and healthy part of the life cycle and was treated with honesty and deep respect. Samhain honours the death of the sun which will be reborn at the Winter Solstice.
In this course we are going to be exploring how to honour this time of year in our own hearts and homes. I have combined my background in Celtic spirituality, meditation, art and yoga to bring you this course jam packed with magic, ritual, self care and ceremony.
